Research shows 70% of the light from an approaching vehicle is located in the area 48" above the highway surface. According to driving range tests, a truck equipped with Luma-Gard splashguards becomes visible up to 5,000 feet ahead. Ordinary 4" truck reflectors became evident just 250 feet ahead.

Luma-Gards hang in this 70% light zone to dramatically increase highway visibility and safety. All other truck graphics, including most reflective tape perimeter markings, are located higher up on the rigs in the less effective 30% light zone.

The average cost of adding reflectorized tape to a trailer is $150 installed. Luma-Gards can be added to a tractor and trailer for just 2/3 the cost of taping.
